All the Feels, Lessons Learned

Failure

cute kid I found on google

Fallen flat on your face lately? Yes? How is that scraped nose doing? If you have kids older than 6 mths, I know you remember when your child first face planted. No, not on the carpet but when they met the sidewalk, face-to-face. It’s one of the few unmistakeable injuries. When you see that scraped nose, forehead, and chin, you can pretty much bank on it. AND…you thought that only happened to kids…NOPE!

Adults face plant too. Well, I can’t speak for you, but I certainly do. My failure is usually not represented by an ugly scab across my face, although at times I wish it were. My mistakes have much worse repercussions. Like a breaking someone’s heart, lowering my credit score, losing a friend, disappointing those who look up to me…and the list goes on. Do you know that feeling?

Ok…are we through wallowing in our failures yet? That’s right…Dust yourself off and GET BACK UP! Get over it…think you are the only person who continues to eat dirt? Want to make yourself feel a bit better? Watch the video, read about famous people’s failure, and then vow to be the one who extends a hand to help someone else up. We all need to be reminded that eventually that ugly scab will heal and we will proudly carry the the lesson we’ve learned. See? Even this cute kid knows that eventually it’s going to be alright.

scabDid you know that when Thomas Edison’s factory burned to the ground in 1914, destroying one-of-a-kind prototypes and causing $23 million in damage, Edison’s response was simple: Thank goodness all our mistakes were burned up. Now we can start fresh again.

ALWAYS REMEMBER…a wise man once said:

Whether you think you can, or think you can’t—you’re right.   – Henry Ford
